Classes at Wooden Bridge Dry Goods

Here are some photos from the Egg Money (Eleanor Burns) class that I'm teaching at Wooden Bridge this spring and summer.  These ladies look like they're working hard, but they are a bunch of slackers, ha, ha.  We have a great time.

Lucy Boston - English Paper Piecing Class

Instructional Videos

Hi Quilters! Completed Projects

Here are some projects I've completed but never posted.

First, this is a photo of the Quilts-of-Valor quilt that my sister, Fred, and I made and presented to a veteran at the Centre County Grange Fair in August 2018.  It is such a wonderful experience to be a part of that program.

Next up is a fun project that I found in a magazine.  Using old doillies, rik-rak, lace, buttons and hankies, you can create some wonderful little quilts.  This is one that I made as a tablemat for my spare bedroom.

I started these little miniature dresden plates several years ago, and I finally used them to make a tablerunner.  I love dresdens, and this gave me a nice small project to practice my machine quilting ruler work.

And, last but not least, here is a pillow I just finished using a Lucy Boston block.  I wanted to have another sample for the Lucy classes that Fred and I have been teaching in the Lehigh Valley.  I love the way this turned out.  

Megan Henry

The "Dusty Ass Quilters" (a group of 12 of my favorite quilters) completed and presented a quilt to Megan Henry in June 2018.  We pray this quilt will bring her comfort as she wins her battle against breast cancer.

The "Quilter's Buffet," hosted by the Penn Rose Quilt Guild in Nazareth, was a big success.  Here are a few photos from the seminar "Fred" and I led on the Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses blocks.  We had lots of laughs and made many new friends...

Here is the second completed quilt by the wonderful ladies at Epworth United Methodist Church.  Can't wait to get started on the third one!!!

Class opportunity:   "Quilters Buffet" will be held on Saturday, May 19, 8:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  This is a round robin of instructions for quilters and quilter wannabes.  Six mini-seminars are offered and you select four to rotate through.  The cost is $45.00 and lunch is included.  There will be two vendors set up and lots of door prizes.  Registration deadline was extended to May 10.  Let me know if you are interested in receiving a registration form.  I would be happy to send it via email.


Bloomsburg:  I had the pleasure of helping Leon Hoover do a ruler-workshop for the talented and fun ladies in the Bloomsburg Machine Quilters guild on Saturday, April 21, 2018.  Here are just a couple of fun photos from our day.  And a quick shout out to Debbie for all of her hard work in organizing this event.

Family News

Lots of exciting news to share!  First of all, Claire Catherine was born on March 8.  Hard to believe she is almost 2 months old already. 

Her big brother and big sister think she's pretty cute (most of the time)!

And last, but not least, Lucas turned 5 years old on April 11.  He's pretty excited about it!

Grange Fair and More...

Wow, I've got a lot of catching up to do!

First off, here are some photos from the great Grange Fair.  First up is a photo of my Dad (Dale Watson) receiving a "Quilts of Valor" quilt.  Thanks to Crystal Kohler, Jackie Raiser, Jayme Ishler, Kara Kohler and Jessica Phillips for all of the work they did on this quilt.

Here is a photo of a quilt that I machine-quilted for my friend Nancy.  She made this quilt as a wedding present and asked me to quilt it for her.  It was a fun project.

That's it for now, but I do want to thank everyone who has been praying for my son, Bill during his recent hospital visit.  He is having some blood pressure issues and he's dealing with kidney disease due to the fact that he has type I diabetes.  He is doing much better, but will have lots of follow-up appointments.  Prayers are still much appreciated.

Ruler Work

I thought I would take a minute to write before we head off to the Centre County Grange Fair!  I'm sure I will have some fun photos to share from the Fair, but in the meantime here is what I've been up to.

I have been busy this past month prepping for a machine quilting demo.  Here are two of my class samples.  I pushed myself to use some new rulers, and I love the results.

Here is a photo of the first quilt that was completed by the ladies of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Bethlehem.  They did a great job, and we've already started our second quilt!

First post

Sending out my first post from the beach at Brigantine, NJ.  How can anyone stand on the beach, looking at the ocean and not believe in God?  It is even more miraculous for me because I got to experience it with my grandchildren.

On June 25, 2017, we delivered a "Quilts of Valor" quilt to my son-in-law's Uncle Al (Aloysius Steber).  We presented him with a quilt and thanked him for his service to our country during WWII.  He died two days later, and now this sweet man is in heaven.

Thank you, Uncle Al, and thank you Crystal Kohler and Jessica Phillips for helping me make this quilt to honor a wonderful man.
