How Do I Quilt This - Large Quilt

 I have completed the second quilt in my "How Do I Quilt This?" series.  It is a queen-size quilt that I will be giving to some dear friends as a thank you gift for some repairs they did to our cabin (which is where this photo was taken). 
The video is available in the column on the right, and it is titled "How Do I Quilt This - Large Quilt".  My goal with these videos is to provide some quilting ideas and inspiration to get some of your unfinished quilts completed.

Baby Quilt Sent to Germany

 My daughter, Jess, completed this quilt top for a friend in Germany, and I did the machine quilting.  The quilt was mailed and arrived safely for baby Simon.  Congratulations to his Mommy, his Daddy and his big sister!!!

Quilt Retreat

As always, good times were had by all at the Linck Hill Quilt Retreat.  Here are some photos to show that we were productive too...

 I've got some catching up to do!  During this time of COVID, I hope you all are finding more time to finish up some of those long forgotten projects.    Here is some of the progress I've made...

First, I had to make a stocking for my new grandson, Thomas.  The stocking is the sixth in the series of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" story.  This one is "While Visions of Sugarplums Danced in Their Heads."  I love you sweet boy!

       

This quilt top was made by a dear friend, Denise Mullins, for her daughter, Courtney.  My job was to do the machine quilting.  Courtney and Kyle got married in October 2020, and had a much smaller wedding than they originally planned.  But, they made the best of it.  And they certainly look happy here...

I finished Courtney's quilt in January and started right in on making two little valentine projects that have been hanging around in my sewing room for a few years.  It felt so good to finish these up...

How Should I Quilt This?

Baby Quilt for Emberly

 My cousin, Angel, had her first baby in March.  I recently was able to give her this quilt.  It has a silky binding which is a must for all kids.  Hopefully, Emberly will grow to love it and feel safe when she is wrapped up in it.

Mystery Quilt

In January 2019, I signed up to participate in a "Mystery Quilt" series that was published in the "QUILTmania" magazine, using Bathwick fabrics by Karen Styles.  I actually stuck with it, and finished the quilt top in 2019, putting my own little spin on it of course.  I layered the quilt top when we were all first quaranteened due to the Corona Virus.  I finally finished the ruffled binding and the label a couple of weeks ago.  Very happy with the final result.

Lots of Updates

I'm finally ready to get back to blogging.  First of all, I have to include a photo of my new grandson, Thomas, and his new quilt.  I was only 3 months late in giving it to him, ha, ha.

Earlier this month, I traveled to Waterville, Pa., with my husband, Glenn and my sisters, Jack and Fred.  We had a weekend of quilting, drinking and laughing.  We think the spirits at the cabin help us to be more creative than we are at home!

I was able to complete this little kit at camp.  It has been hanging out in my sewing room way too long.

And finally, here is a photo of a quilt-in-progress.  Fred and I are designing this quilt, and we are always more inspired when we work on it at the cabin.  A large part of the design will be the "Lucy Boston" blocks.   I will post pictures as we make more progress.

Unique wallhanging

This is a wall-hanging that I gave to my daughter and son-in-law for Valentine's Day.  I loved this quilt-as-you-go hexagon technique.  Many thanks to my Aunt Sam and Cousin Kelly for their inspiration and creativity in helping me create this design!  I love you both.

A late Christmas gift!

I finally delivered my mother-in-law's Christmas gift!  She found this quilt in a magazine and liked it.  I put a nice flannel on the back to make it extra cozy.  This was my first attempt at Trapunto, and I like how it highlighted the quilting.  The dark blue flan and the rick-rack added a nice touch too.  I hope it will bring her lots of comfort and warmth.

Machine Quilters' Guild in Bloomsburg

I had some fun on October 5th, working with the Bloomsburg Machine Quiters Guild.  We spent the day quilting with rulers.  They brought their own quilt tops and we had a blast designing the quilting patterns.  What a great group of ladies...so much fun!!!

Grange Fair 2019

Another year of fun at the Great Grange Fair...

First on the list was a Quilts of Valor presentation.  My quilt was presented to one of FOUR brothers who were recognized that day.  He is the second brother from the right.  THANK YOU all for your service!
